Callywith College is a Further Education post-16 college in Bodmin, Cornwall, which opened in September 2017.

Callywith College shares the vision, aims and teaching qualities of Truro and Penwith College and provides comprehensive tertiary education of the same outstanding quality delivered at the Truro and Penwith campuses. Truro and Penwith College owns the Callywith College site and former senior staff from Truro and Penwith College lead Callywith College, implementing common systems and processes, ensuring the same high levels of quality.

Courses

All of Callywith College’s courses are on offer to any High Needs Learner, providing that they have the entry requirements needed to access their chosen course.

There is an average of 15 hours contact time (teaching) per week with additional expectation of equal independent study time by students.

Qualifications:

Callywith College offers Level 2, Level 3 and A Level courses in a range of qualifications.

Duration of course is dependent on chosen course.

Entry Requirements for Level 2, Level 3 and A Level courses are dependent on the course.  These can be discussed at interview.

Course Content:

All learners continue with GCSE English and Mathematics if they do not have a 4 in English and / or Mathematics.

Learners who have not achieved a 3 in GCSE English and / or Mathematics are enrolled on the relevant Functional Skills course – with a view to them achieving a Functional Skills Level 2 qualification.

Callywith College liaise with Truro and Penwith College’s Apprenticeship Recruitment Coordinator, have a careers advisor and also work closely with Careers South West.

Progression:

Progression route is to the next academic level as appropriate or to Higher Education, apprenticeships or employment.
